Reptilian looking with a cheshire grin. On a tree.
Yala National Forest.
Guide called it an iguana...is it ? It stayed there un-moving and was there hours later when we returned after morning safari. I am very intrigued...doesn't really look like Varanus. HELP!

Thanks again, Jellis...
Definite not amphibian. Too dry a skin
Jellis....I cannot even make up my mind whether this is an amphibian or a reptile! So confused...would love PN experts to chip in with much-needed help. Thanks for your inputs.
I would think this is a spiny tailed lizard if it weren't in the wrong area.
I would get confused too because I am not seeing any iguanas in Sri Lanka or India. Most they have like that are monitors but their heads are too long. Maybe a displaced species.
Thank you Desmond E S O...I am pretty intrigued too.
Those feet look way too thick for an Iguana, now that I think about it.
Too fat for a Varanus. I think maybe a Spineless Female Iguana
Can it be a very fat salamander and not actually a reptile? the more I look the more confused I get.
