saguaro cactus

Description:

Tall cactus with horizontal branches (that take years to grow); sharp needles grow on the body and branches; edible fruit also grows on the saguaro.

Habitat:

The saguaro cactus is found in the Sonoran Desert. The Sonoran Desert covers large parts of the Southwestern United States, including Arizona and California, as well as Northwest Mexico.
