Butterwort

Pinguicula calyptrata

Description:

uses sticky leaves to lure, trap, and digest insects in order to supplement the poor mineral nutrition they obtain from the environments. not sure of the species

Habitat:

paramo, 4000m

Notes:

This was the only carnivorous plant I spotted in Colombia. I would have walked right past it too but my guide pointed it out while we were hiking up Volcan Purace in Purace national park.
