Mirid Bug

Deraeocoris ruber

Description:

A common plant bug of low vegetation, but especially on nettles and low Brambles along hedgerows. Length 6-8 mm. The ground colour (including the scutellum ) ranges from red-orange to almost fully black, although the cuneus is always red to some extent. The pictured bugs were spotted on my glebionis coronaria, in my veggie garden, in Nea Demetrias, Volos city, Greece.
