Cossid Moth

Description:

Large grey and brown moth, 3.5 cm long. Family Cossidae. Cossids usually have very long abdomens which protrude from the ends of the wings, best seen in the second picture. They are also usually slow and torpid.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
