Brown Anole Hatchlings

anolis sagrei

Tiny anole hatchlings. Mostly golden brown. Diamond markings on its back and a lighter patch on its head. Sorry about bad quality pictures, raining fiercely, only having my iphone, only one hand available, very quick wiggly creature!

In our garden in Windwardside, near the Volcano Mount Scenery on Saba in the Caribbean Sea.

Found some eggs ( 10, unfortunately 1 broke) while gardening. (see spotting ) I put the eggs in the same soil in a container in the garden. After a heavy night of rain I was worried about them drowning so went to check. Three had hatched and were climbing up the wall of the container! Now I had seen what hatched I tipped the container so they could climb out on there own after hatching. The hatchlings look very much like anolis sagrei. Although there is no record so far as I can find about the Anolis Sagrei being on Saba. If anyone knows more please do tell!
