Psathyrella candolleana

Description:

Cap, white ca. 2.5 cm diameter; split radially; Gills, dark brown; Stem, ca 3 inches tall, ca 7mm diameter. Remains of veil visible. Spore print: Brown-black Spores 6.5-9.5 x 4-5 µ; ellipsoid with truncated end.

Habitat:

Growing alone on trail in shaded area on floodplain above creek.

Notes:

This is an older specimen. Caps are brown and convex when young.
