Golden Netwing Beetle

Dictyoptera aurora

Description:

Found on a long dead pine, there were three netwing beetles piled upon one another behind our house. It was the only time I have spotted them in our area since living here. Oddly enough, what I've found suggests they are native to more northern regions of northern america. If so, I wonder why they were here??
