Lepus californicus
They are brown all over with very large ears with black tips. The back legs are also long, and the tail is black.
Found in central and western North America in scrublands. These two were seen in an open grassland along a road. Once they knew they were seen, they took off in the other direction.

Thanks Tom! I think these were trying to hide first, which is why I only got one shot and the rest are all of their butts :)
Nice pictures Ashley! I've never been able to get a shot of a jackrabbit, they always took off as soon as I saw them:-(
