Bubulcus ibis
This cattle egret was gathering materials for the nest. It flew from the nesting area to the treed banks and searched for the perfect material. When the perfect branch or twig was found, the bird flew back to the nesting area and presented it to its mate who then carefully added it to the building nest.
Seen at Wakadatchee Wetlands Preserve. Wakodatchee is a wetland area created by the water company and encompasses water areas, treed areas, marshy areas.

I know there's no picture of the nest in this spotting, but you have the building material, the behaior, and a great description, so please consider adding this spotting to the Animal Architecture mission at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082...
