Marsh Pennywort

Hydrocotyle vulgaris

Description:

Hydrocotyle vulgaris, also known as Marsh Pennywort, is a small creeping perennial herb native to N. Africa, Europe, Florida, and west to the Caspian region; in Britain it is the only native Hydrocotyle, and is a component of Purple moor grass and rush pastures - a type of Biodiversity Action Plan habitat.

Notes:

Spotted in a mix forest near my house,i think this is a mal-formation of the plant, but i'am not sure

Since I suggested a different ID; I now think it's probably a beetle gall growing on Umbilicus rupestris: http://mundani-garden.blogspot.co.uk/201...

it's bizarre,i have the place under eye to see if next year the plant show up again, with or without this formation,so we can compared
