Libellula lydia: aka Plathemis lydia. Skimmer Family (Libellulidae)
Common Whitetails are medium sized dragonflies, 1 3/4 inches long with a 2 3/4 inch wingspan.
Common Whitetails like still water, warm weedy ponds. Can also be found around marshes and sluggish streams.
