A light grey feather.
Found in our forest in Albion under the trees, Maple Ridge,BC, North America. Temperate rain forest.
My little sister found this feather and the nest in the background.
Thanks Heather R and ForestDragon for your help. I have added a picture of the front of the feather. The nest has nothing to do with this spotting.
1) What size is it? If it's large it could be a goose or some such type bird; if it's smaller it could be a jay, a gull, etc.
2) Was the feather in the nest, or are they separate finds?
Nice find. I have moved this to the Birds section for you. I do not think this is a crow feather as it is not black. It is possible that it is a gull feather (looking at the shape). Do you have any more images so we can see the other side?
