Description:

Long-legged shorebird about the size of a pigeon, with distinct markings, long neck, and distinctly upturned bill as shown.

Habitat:

Along shore of a large, artificial urban lake surrounded by lawns, residential neighborhoods, and various commercial buildings. Near downtown Colorado Springs.

Notes:

The lake is low due to prolonged drought, but heavily used by migrant birds right now.
