Hippeastrum sp.
Posted as Blood Lily
Observed at a County Botanical Garden in partial shade with other lilies.
Ric3 this is definitely an Amaryllis, not a blood lily http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/g...
The sign must have been referring to a plant that was missing, or hadn't bloomed yet.
Are you saying that the common name could be Blood Lily. In the Hippeastrum genus; and one of any of the many species of Amaryllis? The sign (tag) at the Botanical Garden said "Blood Lily"; and they had Haemanthus multiflorus. Unless the sign was between the 2 species of flowers, and I didn't notice. Based on your answer, I think another trip back there is in order.
