Adelpha californica
Large, brown butterfly with a large yellow spot on the wing tips. There is a white band on each wing. The front edge of the wings is blue with a couple red bands. Chaparral. Landing only on Oaks. Found only in the extreme western US states. "Mostly mountain and canyon terrain. Associated with Oaks (Quercus species, which are the larval food plants."
