Bubo virginianus
Large gray, brown and white owl with long ear tufts. This owl has been in this same tree for nearly a week. This is North America's second largest owl.
Palm tree right on campus of a busy High School. This is one of the most widespread owls in North America.

Nice series Cindy.
LOL!! If the pics are in order of how you saw it, he's more than comfortable...especially with that leg tucked up!! Thanks for sharing!! ;-)
Hi Christy, thank you! I've added it to your awesome mission. This owl was on campus at a High School so you know it's not afraid of people. I had to dance around for it to even bother taking a glance at me for this series. They're so beautiful!
Love it!! Looks like he couldn't have a care in the world!! It's amazing how many of these are in the city parks...they're so adaptable!! Beautiful series, Cindy! I'd love you to add this to the mission Raptors of North America! We're close to 2000 spottings!!! http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627...
Thank you Telse!
