American Crow

Corvus brachyrhynchos

Description:

Crow or Raven I believe

Habitat:

On the snowy ground, in or near semi-frozen puddles, in trees or flying in the sky all over Otter Tail County in NW Minnesota

Notes:

I've been seeing a lot of these guys everywhere of late. I see them most frequently in farm fields and in our back yard under our suet feeders. These particular images were taken at Glendalough State Park one day when there seemed to be more than usual in the area. I'm not sure what they were eating but they took turns landing, pecking at the ground and flying away for over 30 minutes...a dead animal perhaps?

I'd agree with Ashley; these are all photos of crows. You do have ravens in your area though. These birds don't have the very heavy bill of a raven or neck ruff that is often apparent on ravens. Nice shots!
