Size: 3 - 4 mm, basic color: russet, pattern color: black spots, number of spots: 0 - 26. Spot fusions are common. Melanic (black) forms are rare. Wing cases covered in fine hairs (visible with hand lens).
Found in tram tracks! Habitat: grassland, meadow. Host plant: various grasses and low growing plants.
