Sap-feeding Beetle

Omosita nearctica

Description:

Unknown red-brown beetle with yellow on elytra. The pronotum and abdomen are both squarish in shape and flat. I was only able to get these two shots before it flew away.

Habitat:

Screen door at night in the backyard. This species is found throughout the US and Canada.

Notes:

Ugh, I need to clean the screens!
