Another nice spotting Nursejurs. These woodpeckers are very similar. They can be differentiated by their size, but since that can be relative another good characteristic is the beak. The downy has a much shorter bill. The bill of a hairy woodpecker is almost as long as the head is wide. When you see these woodpeckers many times you will begin to notice the differences.
