Speckled Piculet

Picumnus innominatus

Description:

Piculets belong to the same family, Picidae, as the woodpeckers. The gash on the branch was made by it perhaps in search of some insects or grubs. This was the first time I saw this bird in this area.

Habitat:

Western Himalayas.
