Ichneumonid Parasitoid Wasp

Exenterus sp.

Description:

This genus (Exenterus) of parasitic ichneumon wasp feeds on the larvae of Diprionidae, which are conifer-feeding sawflies.

Habitat:

This one was attracted to a porch light at the edge of a deciduous hardwood forest in Edgefield County, SC.
