Family Acrididae, Bermioides sp.
The grasshopper in the forefront looks to be a younger instar, body length 16mm. The grasshopper in the background (both pics) has wing buds and is larger than the other, body length 20mm.
Spotted on Guinea grass (Urochloa maxima) at James Cook University Cairns QLD
My closest guess is a Pandanus Grasshopper, Bermioides nigrobivittatus. Any suggestions?
