Jerusalem Cricket

Stenopelmatus fuscus

Description:

This organism has six legs and I could only see two antennae. It has two segments, kind of like a bee. The colors are very neutral so it is easily camouflaged.

Habitat:

It was on the sand which was damp, but it probably came out of the vegetation around the sand which has wild grass as well as wild flowers.

This spotting goes in the Arthropods category rather than the Other category. Arthropods have an exoskeleton and jointed legs; think crabs, bees, flies. Please go to "edit this spotting" and make the change. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's a mole cricket
