I don't know much about them, but it isn't an isolated case that this red one is smaller than the other Bombus pascuorum with stripes (like on my photo)...Saw both of them today, on the same meadow...unfortunately couldn't get any photos, they were too fast..
I'd say it's a pretty good match for Bombus pasquorum. The size isn't off, I don't think -- I'd estimate it was 15mm long. I'll let this settle a bit, but I think that's a pretty good match. The three ocelli on the head (viz http://www.bumblebee.org/pasc.htm), the somewhat scruffy hairs (viz http://www.arkive.org/common-carder-bumb...), the lighter hairs on the abdomen. I'll let this one sit for a bit but I think @arlanda is right.
I think I had an encounter with it yesterday but so it shouldn't be very rare...however I'd say could be a bumblebee..not sure cause its size was close to the bee size and maybe a bit bigger....hm.

Usually pasquorum would be double size ....http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/21325082
Bombus pasquorum?
Welcome to Project Noah
@injica Yes, it was about the size of a honeybee -- smaller than the bumblebees I'm used to, at least.
