Blue Jay Nest

Description:

This nest was made of twigs and leaves, and tucked into a Eastern Red Cedar. The tree is on a hillside, so I was able to get almost even with it, but there were too many branches between to get a clear shot. The chicks were hunkered down where I could not see them, and the parents refused to feed them while I was there, so I settled on a photo of the nest and left them in peace.

Habitat:

Eastern Red Cedar in greenbelt running through a subdivision.
