Lark Sparrow

Chondestes grammacus

Description:

The chest is white with a black spot and the back is streaked brown. The face has brown sides and the top of the head has black and white stripes. I've often heard them referred to as having clown faces.

Habitat:

They are found throughout North America in open grasslands. This guy was at the feeders in Palo Duro Canyon SP.
