Mary Bowerman interpretive trail on MT Diablo is said to have those.

My group found it in a field on the Mitchel canyon trail. Yeah I have been looking for them but have never found one there, have only seen them in the Mojave, very excited to find my first one sometime!

I live in Contra Costa. Where exactly did you see this? Would like to see one. Also,do you know that there are Horned Lizards on Mt Diablo!!
