Japanese Tiger Beetle

Cicindela Japonica

Description:

Blue / Green / Orange Shiny bug. Very fast and easily scared away (explains the fussy picture ) About 3 cm. A bit wasp like.

Habitat:

On a hill near/in Kyoto Japan. Near forest.

Notes:

The sunlight bounced back on this little bug that was dashing up and down on the bare stone floor. I don't know what it was doing, but it was BUSY! It was hard to take a picture from it as my zoom is not very strong and he was very quick.

Great shot! However, why is this in the “Life and Mathematics” mission? I think it might not quite fit with the purpose of that mission, so you should consider taking it out of that mission :)
