Xylocopa virginica
Large black hairless bee, except for a pile of yellow fuzz on the thorax. Males have yellow/white face. Common in eastern North America, and the only member of its genus in much of range. The male is the one flying and waiting to mate with the female feeding on the wisteria blooms.
