Family: Lycaenidae Subfamily: Lycaeninae Genus: Spindasis Species: syama terana Common Name: Club Silverline The main characteristics separating the Club Silverline from the Long-Banded Silverline are the club-shaped basal streak on the underside of the fore wing and the mainly black edging of the silver streaks as compared to the reddish brown of the Long-Banded Silverline. The species has two pairs of white-tipped tails and an orange tornal area on the hindwings.
It is rarely encountered but when observed, it is usually on a bright sunny day as it flies rapidly among grassy undergrowths.
This butterfly frequents the school garden and is observed among the flowering plants during the afternoon. The Photographs shows the butterfly on "Genda" or Marigold Flower.
