Pharomachrus mocinno
Blue, green, and red.
Mountainous rain forest regions of northern Costa Rica
Males and females are co-dependent and take care of the nest together. There is always at least one parent in the nest at all times. Feeding habits for the baby require a parent to gather food and come back, immediately switching places with the other parent inside the best in a matter of seconds by means of a very athletic maneuver. Both parents sleep together with the baby at night.
