Horned Lark

Eremophila alpestris

Description:

The only true lark native to North America, the Horned Lark is a common, widespread bird of open country. I only noticed the "horns" until I saw the pictures.

Habitat:

Open, barren country. Prefers bare ground to short grasses.

Notes:

This is my first Horned Lark sighting.
