Grass-like Mantis

Thesprotia graminis

Description:

A slender mantis which can mimic a stick and is sometimes mistaken for a walking stick insect. They are found throughout the southern United States. Adult males can reach 2 inches long and females up to 3 inches long. Males can be identified by their long, visible antennae.

Found near the side door of the house.
