Bison dung beetle

Aphodius haemorrhoidalis

Habitat:

North Dakota badlands

Notes:

It was very entertaining to watch this dung beetle roll his dung ball around while looking for a suitable place to bury it. The female preferred to sit on the ball which made it much more difficult for him to roll it.
