I believe Christy is right! This looks like a Red-Shouldered Hawk to me! Lovely shots!

Thanks for the comments and help. I went through my field guides trying to identify given my photos and wasnt confident with my identification. We have an abundance of red-tailed hawks and it did look like a juvenile but seemed smaller. I will definitely add the spottings to Raptors of North America.

Beautiful series!! Not a Red-Tailed Hawk...probably a Red-Shouldered Hawk...we don't have them in CO, so I'm not positive of the ID. I'd love you to add this and any other spottings that apply to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627...
