Black Kite

Milvus migrans

Description:

Black Kite is distinguished by its forked tail. Spotted the kite on a lamp post in the suburbs. It sat quite still while I photographed it from my car. But the moment I stepped out of my car, it flew and circled the area before heading to a nearby power line/pole where it's mate was perched. I noticed a nest on the pole there. Not sure if the nest was built by the kites or belonged to another bird entirely.
