Jacquemontia ovalifolia subsp. sandwicensis (Convolvulaceae)

Description:

Low-lying vine with light-colored lavender flowers 10-12 mm across.

Habitat:

Tropical; dry coastal strand shrubland and grassland.

Notes:

Spotted alongside what passes for a 4-wheel drive road, west of the end of Farrington Highway on the north shore of Oahu. This sub-species is endemic to Hawaii.
