Description:

Large fly with a yellowish head and thorax, black abdomen with a distinct yellow mark near the end. White face. Yellowish coloration at base of wings. Coarse hairs on abdomen typical of Tachinid Flies.

Habitat:

Sunken Meadow State Park, NY.

Notes:

First Tachinid of the year! Notice the pollen on the hairs of the abdomen in picture #1.
