Description:

a gossamer-wing butterfly family lycaenidae Wingspan (22-28MM) Range: Southern British Columbia and southeastern Ontario, throughout United States, and into Mexico "Numerous, widespread subspecies of this highly variable butterfly may represent a complex of closely related species. Adults fly in open scrublands and woodlands during spring and summer. There are 1 - 3 generations a year. Reference - National Wildlife Federation - Field Guide to Insects and Spiders of North America - 2008
