Gerris remigis
Four long legs that ride on the water and two shorter legs in the front for grabbing prey. Their bodies are built to transfer their weight to walk on water. Mostly brown with white sides. These are wingless bugs. They live on both live and dead insects on the water. During mating the male will sit on the female as though it is one insect.
Creeks, lakes and ponds.
