Spotting

Description:

I'm not sure what these are. They are dead, but what creature left them behind / or what are they? They could be dried up brood of some kind, perhaps a worm, or maybe a chrysalis? You can see the one on the left, has been broken in half. They are each about 10 - 12mm long. Brown. They came out from behind shingles on my house, while I was hosing my house down. Please help me to identify them. :)

Habitat:

Behind shingles, on the front gable of my house. They washed out from behind the shingle tiles, when I was washing my house with the hose.
