Australasian Pipit

Anthus novaeseelandiae

Streaky brown and buff groundlark with pale legs and beak, prominent buff eye brow and noticeable dark malar stripe.

Common in Australia and Tasmania where I saw this one singing from a rock in a field by the ocean on the east coast of Tasmania. Flew and landed on another rock and sang again. Likes fields, golf courses, alpine meadows.
