Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Notes:

Out for a walk this evening, we heard several owls in conversation. We spotted one in the top of a high tree and stopped to watch and listen. Soon one of the other two or three owls in the conversation swooped in to join the first owl. Over the whole walk, we saw three or four owls and heard at least five. Based on size, wingspan, song, and head shape, we are fairly certain all these birds are Great Horned Owls. Sorry for the terrible photo, but all I had with me was my iPhone :-(

Hi Karen, it sounds like a pretty neat experience, however, there is no identifiable organism in your picture. If you have another picture that you can see the owls in, please replace this one with it. Otherwise, please remove this spotting. Thanks for your understanding.
