Spotting

Description:

A young tree, large leaves approximately 2' in length. Currently standing 8-9' tall.

Habitat:

Growing on the dry river bed that remains after the massive landslide that we experienced here 3 years ago this week.

Notes:

Quite a coincidence that I have been up on the river bed this morning looking for wildlife. Checked back through my albums to find the date of the landslide for this spotting .. 26-31 March 2011. This river bed did not exist prior to the landslide. The river runs parallel to this area. 3 years ago we had torrential rain for days, this year we are desperate for rain.

Thanks Jesse! I'm still looking for an ident. This plant is free standing and I've spotted at least one other that stands about 15' tall. The leaf resembled Philodendron, but they tend to attach themselves to other plants don't they?
