Description:

About the size of a crow. With stout legs. It has a distinctive crest when perched but not visible through flight. They mainly feed on insects which they catch with their talons in flight. sometimes prey on small birds. Thought to be a winter migrant in the southern state of Kerala.

Habitat:

Spotted in flight over my residence which is surrounded by tall trees.

Notes:

This is my first spotting this year. Happy new year every one...!
