Seven-spot ladybird

Coccinella septempunctata

Description:

The Seven-spot is the most common ladybird in Europe. However, in the UK there are concerns that it may be outcompeted by the invasive Harlequin ladybirds. It is a voracious predator of aphids in both its adult and larval form so is a gardener's best friend!

Habitat:

Urban park in Acton, London.
