Common Spring Moth

Heliomata cycladata

Description:

This geometrid moth has a black and white wing pattern. Each forewing has a vertical white bar. The outer margins of the moth are black. Wingspan about 20 mm.

Notes:

Larvae feed on black locust and honey locust. Hodges#6261. Most records are from March through July. Per BAMONA, this spotting is a new species record for Edgefield County, SC.
