Genista hispanica

Description:

Genista hispanica is a flowering plant in the legume family Fabaceae. Small bush 30-60 cm high of dark green colour and semispheric shape. It shows thorns 5-15 cm long green and ramified. The leaves are spear shaped and 6-10 cm long. Flowers are yellow in terminal groups. The fruits are short and curved legumes 1 cm long. It flowers in spring giving a vivid yellow colour to landscape.

Habitat:

Iberian peninsula and south of France. Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid
